We are all unique / Nous sommes tous unique

As a school, Tuscany is creating a quilt that showcases how we are all unique. Our class has focused on identifying diverse manners in which we can each ensure that everyone is included and feels included.

Our Learning Leaders, Mme Gainor & Mme Glowacki, came to our room this afternoon to share a couple of stories with us that emphasize inclusion. In the conversation that followed, each of us offered suggestions and ideas as to what it would look like if we are all included (ie. what action can we take to ensure that this happens).  Students were inspired and offered ideas such as to play a board game together, to greet each other in the hallway, to invite someone to play with you, to share a smile, to share gentle words, to share our toys - like a favourite stuffie {though not until after Covid :) },  and to offer a flower.

With some sandpaper and fabric, our wax crayons and a couple of irons (operated by Mme Gainor & Mme Glowacki) we set about creating our artistic rendering of how to ensure that everyone is welcome and included in our day.

Once every student in Tuscany School has completed their square of the quilt, it will be sewn together and hung in our gymnasium to share with the school community as a reminder that we are all unique and everyone is welcome.
