Our Learning
Coin du français
We are having some fun with riddles! We are continuing to explore different forms of writing and ways to design & create our writing. We know that riddles frequently have only three clues (but sometimes more) before asking the important question of "Qui suis-je?".
We are using our math knowledge to help us design the best clues. :) We compare the first (general) clue to something that fits in the "centaines"/hundreds column - oodles of possible responses to choose from, the second (more specific) clue to something that fits in the "dizaines"/tens column - not as many possible responses to choose from and the last (very specific) clue as something that fits in the "unités"/ones column - very few possible responses to choose from. This way we are setting up our clues to help the reader guess the answer to our riddle.
All of our exploring with riddles will help us to share our learning about historical landmarks around Calgary in another couple of weeks. We are hoping to share our riddles about Calgary's past in a Jeopardy format! :)
These riddles below though were "free choice" and so there isn't a theme between them - which adds an extra challenge. See how many of our riddles you can correctly answer. :)
