Our Learning

As we explore the past and how people lived on the Prairies many years ago, students are becoming aware of how differently pioneers lived in comparison to our lives.  Students have commented on the the absence of running water, electricity, in-house washrooms, cars, televisions, plastic toys, books and games - in addition to internet and mobile devices.   

Students have also been curious about pioneer homes - how they were made and why they were so small.  We have done a guided drawing, in class, of a log cabin and we will be further exploring how pioneer homes were made.
