Le tissage
Finger weaving is an important tradition in the francophone culture and there are many elements of Carnaval, such as wearing a "ceinture flechée", that exist from a tradition of finger weaving. We began practicing our weaving skills with extra-large yarn, by doing some braiding. Once we mastered the pattern of the weaving one side and then the other side, we created some fabulous woven braids. Many students in our class had plans to use their weaving as a bracelet or a hair tie or a necklace.
