Our Learning 

As it is not currently possible to invite our families into our classroom to share our learning, we would like to share some photos with you, so that you can have a virtual visit. 

Growth Mindset Skills

For the start of the school year, we have been reading stories highlighting both resiliency skills and positive learning skills.  We have each made a promise to practice these skills as we are engaging in our learning adventures for the start of the year.  Please ask your child to share our positive learning skills with you.  

Coin des maths

As we explore/review different ways of representing numbers, we are creating a class number line in our classroom.  Stay tuned as we continue to identify new representations throughout the year. 

We have also started developing our problem solving skills as we become math detectives at the end of each week to identify our key math words and share our ideas to solve our math problem. 

Coin des sciences

We have been benefitting from the fabulous autumn temperatures and colours this year and taking our learning outside, both for our insect explorations and also for visual journalling as we experience the seasonal changes and fall colours through four of our senses.

Good news!  Tuscany School has received our licenses for the online reading website - Je lis.  Please look for the link and the passcode in our Google Classroom this week.  All our families are encouraged to explore the website regularly and choose books to share.  We hope that it will become a daily routine in your family. 

In the classroom, our return to establishing our reading skill sets began with our letter study, linking names and sounds.  We began with our vowels and have now just started with consonants. All students are applying their literacy knowledge at their own level, whether that be individual letters, consonant & vowel combinations or targeted vocabulary.  

Our very first oral presentations for October will be this Friday, October 16th.  We are excited to share with our classmates. 

Qui suis-je?  We will also be starting to practice asking questions as we become detectives to discover the owner  of each of our "mystery bag"s.  Our first mystery bag will be Tuesday.
