Our visit to the Coulee with Elder Saa'kokoto

We had a fabulous visit to the Coulee this afternoon with Elder Saa'kokoto and Mme White!  The air was crisp, the birds were singing and the creek was quietly ambling around the rocks as we walked the trails.

Our Senses

We walked to a small clearing that extended up a hill and found a place to sit as we focused on our four senses of hearing, smell, touch and vision.  Each of us took the time to do our best learning as we searched for four items that belonged to each of the senses on our page and sketched, in detail, what we saw in front of us.

Our Number Line

We also took time to look around us for new representations of the numbers on our number line.

Elder Saa'kokoto

We finished off the afternoon with a visit, a story and a song with Elder Saa'kokoto.  Elder Saa'kokoto taught us the "Wake up Song" as we called to the geese, the coyotes and the chickadees to join us.

It was an exciting afternoon of discovery and we can hardly wait until our next visit to the Coulee.

Our Learning  Our plants are ready to come home!  We planted seeds exactly 13 days ago and we've been observing attentively ever since...
